Loathing Loss

Not weight loss of course - loss of any other kind. Loss of my youth, loss of  my kids now that they are older, and mostly I loathe the loss of my mind.

I've done remarkably well this week, and managed to drop 5 lbs without even trying, Isn't stress a strange thing that way?  I have also done very well with my food, Tonight was about 3 Oz of salmon, spinach, 1/2 of a gold sweet potato, and a huge salad.  Later Nehemiah and I had air popped popcorn with ranch seasoning and then a fat free sugar free Jell-O.  Yum!

My insomnia last night made me come in my office and find my last Turtle though, and eat it at 2 AM.  Which led to about 5 Milk Duds! Love chocolate and caramel!

I have been doing tons of work around the house still, and I am using that to compensate for the exercise I'm not getting in. I put the second coat in bathroom today, it looks great, like a creamy latte brown - purdy!  Then switched two closets and went through all of Nehemiah's clothes again to make sure his pants weren't butt huggers super tight, because if he can get them on ~ "they fit"!  I was down to my last load of laundry until we began this expedition. You'd be surprised at the amount of dirty clothes a boy can keep in his closet!

I also finally finished my ACE Personal Trainer Course Book -  Now I have a TON of review to do. I'd like to take my exam right around the new year - just start it off with a bang and set it up to be WAY better than this one has turned out!

Tomorrow will be starting laundry over again - But I think I might take a guest pass to Bally's and see how I like it.  I guess I should go to sleep if I have such lofty plans! :-)

Sunday

Hello! It's Sunday! It's sad when the weekend goes so fast that I typed "Saturday" as the title and had to change it! Ah, I don't like that weekends speed by so quickly! :)
On the exercise front, I ran the last Friday and Saturday, and yesterday I cleaned out my big perennial garden, breaking a nice sweat. Unfortunately, on the food front, I ate at a Mexican restaurant on Friday night (bad, fried food and chips...) and had chips last night, too... Anyone else feel like it's one step forward and two steps back? :) Better than just two steps back, I guess. Hope you all are doing great!! Tomorrow (or today, depending on your calendar ;)) is the beginning of a new week!! We can have a good week (let's try hard since Thanksgiving and LOTS of food is around the corner!! :))

It's Thursday!

Hello, all! Is anyone still out there? :) I have not exercised since my yoga class on Tuesday night-well nothing other than the ordinary everyday things like laundry. :) We have had a lot of heavy laundry lifting, though... ;) I am planning on getting a run in tomorrow-send good vibes... to get back to it, again, after being off for four weeks since the flu and bronchitis. How about you all? Anyone trying new things? Eating differently? Hope all is well!

Biggest Loser Monday

Last week I made 9,000 excuses not to exercise, and I never did. I did however get my dining room and kitchen repainted, and Nehemiah's room re-done - that kept me busy for 3 days. Then, I finally cleaned up my diet on day four, and have felt great since doing that. Last night I had a few beers, some barbecue, rice and a salad... ok, and TWO pieces of Sock-It-To-Me bundt cake... YUM!!!

This morning I didn't have to take my son to school, so I slept in a little bit, and then I got up and played my new Wii game...

I wish there was a way to compete with each other online because this would be a lot of fun.  I did the workout on "easy" just to see what it was about, and it was fairly easy.  It was 23 minutes, then I chose to do an 8 minute cool down.  My only complaint is that it said that I burned less than 100 calories. Um... really?? Why was I red and all sweaty?  I don't think that was right, but hey, what do I know? I think a walk around the block will make up for a Big Mac Value Meal! (j/k)

I hope everyone else is doing well... we can all get motivated to do something!  Sometimes the baby steps will lead to bigger ones, next thing you know we'll all be running! :-)  Everyone have a great week, and don't be shy! I hate playing alone!  Love you all! - 'Nette

Day Three - where is everyone?

Good morning everyone - Let's get up and motivated today, and just do a little extra. (Jen - that doesn't mean extra coughing however!!) I had reverse insomnia this time (like my friend Kim gets) - usually I am up 'til 2 AM, but this time I got to bed by 11 but was up at 4:30. So, I got up and deep cleaned the living room and did some major re-arranging in the guest bedroom. I had to also pick up the mattress and box spring off the frame because one of the slats had fallen... then once I got those up I realized I should probably clean under there, then it all just went from there. Needless to say I broke a sweat by 7 AM this morning, but that won't be all. I am going to get on my Biggest Loser Wii game today too! If no work comes in I am putting a second coat of paint in the hall bathroom too! :-) Happy Tuesday all - I'll check back later!!! Ok - off to start laundry and drive Nehiamiah to school!!

Treadmill Shmedmill

Today was not a treadmill day for me, but I did get lots of activity in nonetheless. I redid Nehemiah's bedroom, which included moving 2 dressers into and 1 dresser out of the room, moved the bed, moved a TV stand in and got rid of the one that was previously in there, vacuumed, hung curtains... and spent over an hour navigating and carrying a Foosball table around the house, then up the stairs then even longer trying to get it in the door. Ended up taking the legs off the table and the door off his room! I was DETERMINED after we got it up the stairs, it was gonna fit in that room! I did have help, so I am not complaining, but it was a ton of work! I have picture-proof - so enjoy. If only he had something on the walls, or if I could get the stuff I need to paint up to the ceiling it wouldn't look so "eggshell" ... UGHH!!

Well - that is my "excuse" for the day... however, I am more sore than I have been in a LONG time!! I am doing the Biggest Loser Wii game tomorrow... so, I will get more in then, still have no solid plan in place, just staying super busy 'til I figure it out! Hope everyone did well today! I'm glad to see Charlotte finally on here! Yeah! And I got an email from Chris, so looks like we have a couple people that want to play along! I'm glad to be able to keep in touch and help each other out!

November 1st ALREADY??

It's game on AGAIN for all of us trying to win the battle of the bulge this holiday season! Today is the official start of our Booster Club*. Let's all start just by doing something simple like taking a walk, or whatever doesn't seem too threatening. I mean, it is day one, and a Sunday - right?! Plus, no early burn out this time! Goal here is no weight gain over the holidays, to improve our health, and anything else is a bonus; just like the cherry on top of a hot fudge cake from Big Boy.... crap! There I go again!!
